Marie Aubois existed in the 17th century. It is important to know that the Mi'kma'ki people continue to exist in a vibrant community. One community is Wagmatcook First Nation. Others are in Nova Scotia and Maine.

ReplyDeleteMarie is my 9th great grandmother my line comes down through her son Jean-Francois. Such an exciting discovery. Looks like we are part of the family that somehow escaped being deported.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Rae Martin and I am doing my neighbours family tree for her. Marie Christine Aubois and Jean Roy is her 8 x's Gr. Grandparents. I am amazed at the history she has in her family. She said that she had heard she has Metis in her family and asked if I could find out if that was true. It is indeed very true. Her line goes back to the 500's. Crazy! I googled Marie Aubois' name and I found your blog. It is wonderful! Thank You so much! :)

There is a family tree going back to Marie Membertou's Grandfather 1486-1506 and Grandmother 1481-1547.

There is a picture of her. ReplyDeleteMarie Christine Aubois and Jean Roy dit Laliberté are my great grand parents however many generations past .. I’m happy I found this I just got my family tree goes back to the 1600s and another two that go back to the may flower
